It’s All Meaningless Without Joy

Although I tried to go to work today, they sent me home as I simply wasn’t ready to return.

But they sent me home with Grace and Wisdom. My boss told me, “Right now God is working on something in you and we don’t know what it is, but we can’t question it… We must simply go with the flow and see what the outcome is” He told me to be patient and do what it is at hand for today, to be in the now, which was rest and heal.

The idea of more rest frustrated the worker bee inside of me. So, I called my Daddy, cried on his shoulder and he said the same thing! Then he told me to read Ecclesiastes. And what a Revelation!

Have you read it? Find that what we think is important in this life is meaningless. It is meant for one thing and one thing only… To draw near to the Lord and experience His Joy!

While we are here, we do what we can to work thru tribulation and toil to learn more about Jesus’ love for us and learn how to love one another in the same way. Unfortunately, we confuse all of that with jobs, friendships, relationships, errands and chores and all the other stuff we try to do good about. When our focus should come to being with God.

This life is not forever, it’s temporal! Our life in God however is Eternal! We have much to celebrate and much to enjoy! We can experience that Joy here on Earth as it is done in Heaven!

Ecclesiastes 8:15
So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.

So do what is at hand, for you cannot plan for the future nor can you repair the past. The control you seek is in this moment and now in this moment and now in this one and so on and so on… We need not worry ourselves with what we think may happen because we truly do not know what will happen and cannot even change what happens!

Bad things happen to good people!

This is a true statement, but it’s what we do in that moment that defines our level of Joy that will carry is through the trials.

So, today, work with all your might and then rejoice in those works! Then rest. Then do it again when the right time comes.

There is a time for everything. This famous song was written from the wisdom of the word and is one of the most famous songs in the world! God speaks to His People who listen!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace
So go, enjoy your life for the Joy you find will help you through tomorrow to do it all over again!
