I Have Called You | In 3 Ways You Will Know

How do we answer the Lord’s calling on our lives? Is there a special guide to show us the way? Or do we just hope to fall in the footsteps of our Fathers will?

There are 3 ways we can see to it that we Follow God’s will in our Lives. We must first understand where our Hope lies, we must then know how to decipher the world around us and lastly, we must know what our gifts are to fulfill the will of God in our lives.

#1 Where Does Our Hope Lie?

In John 20:29 we hear doubt when Thomas exclaims that he must physically see Jesus and his scars before he will Believe that Jesus has risen. After letting Thomas place his finger in the holes of his hands and feel the scar from the spear in His side, Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

1573746856609Must we as disciples of His word be so stubborn as to require physical sight to Believe in the Will of God in our Lives? Or can we simply Believe by Faith and not by sight? Where does our Hope lie in this?

Our Hope lies in our Faith, in our Belief! There is no hope without Faith. With sight, we will always be waiting for proof, substance that what we did something right. Then, who are we to judge what proof is right or wrong? Or what is even proof at all?

TOKOGAE (The Knowledge of Good and Evil) will have us convinced that we will know when we see Good and we will know when we see Evil. But do we really know? Or, is it really that the Spirit within us knows. God assures us that we are moving in the right direction by giving us peace without understanding.

#2 Deciphering the World Around Us

You see, we can’t always see in actuality what is taking place in certain situations. Satan is the best con-man there is and he will keep us distracted in thinking that we know what God’s will is for our lives. But until we surrender our way, and let Jesus lead us, we will never truly understand God’s gifts to us and how to use them to fulfill His Will.

John 20:21-22 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Why did Jesus give us the Holy Spirit before He left? The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God put within us to overtake or replace TOKOGAE in our minds. He is the “sound mind” the scriptures tell us about. It is the Breath of God within us, transforming us to be Christ-Like so that we might think like Christ and wholly, be like Christ in every way!

The thinking of God’s ways come to us as whispers, as intuitions, as a habit formed in another and placed in us. These ways are not our ways, but yet, when we focus on the word and quiet ourselves before the Lord, we see His life come alive in us. We are given a new found Faith that drives us from within to seek out the path God has given us and fulfill the will of God in our lives with the unique gifts He gave us to do this.

As we look back at John 20:21-22, we see in verse 21 Jesus says, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” He sent us out to share the Good News! That is the Will of God for our Lives. What a wonderful and simple task lay before us! That we might have the power and the ability to share with others the Joy we have found! The Grace He gave the world is for anyone who will simply Believe that the work is finished. And He laid that truth inside of us with His Breath!

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners;

#3 The Gifts We Were Given to Carry Out His Will

1576156624935And lastly, we look at the Unique Gifts that each of us were given to carry out this will. Some of us are Preachers and Teachers, some Prophets. Some who have Compassion and some who have Conviction. There are many of us who have the gift of prayer or speaking in tongue and some of us who have the gift of a child’s heart. But no matter which gifts we were given, they all sum up to make the Body of Christ whole and as one. We were created diverse and unique intentionally! So as not to cover one topic, but to blanket the whole world with the Blood of Christ in our own special way.

In Ephesians 4:11-12 we read, And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;

Learning what our gifts are may be the tricky part in this journey. The heart of oneself is often misjudged by the perception of others thrown upon them. Do we not lead in the things we are good at and follow in the things we do not understand? It may be that we need to spend time with the Lord to understand all the gifts we have been given to truly understand ourselves. We may not be as gifted in areas as we think we are. So, let us come to the Lord with a humble heart and willingness to learn that which we are about to receive.

We may also find that the gifts He has bestowed on us lead us into endeavors that frighten our flesh or seem to big to handle. But, because as Believers, we do not live by fear, but a sound mind, we can courageously walk forward to the tasks that are laid before us.

In Conclusion

So, How do we answer the Lord’s calling on our lives? Is there a special guide to show us the way? Or do we just hope to fall in the footsteps of our Fathers will?

We BELIEVE that God has set forth our path, guided by a sound mind and scripture, along with unique gifts to relate to others, to spread the Good News which is for the good of the will of God by Faith and not by sight.

This is how we answer the Lord’s calling on our Lives. By building our Sound Minds with the Word to serve as our guides and Hope in the things not yet seen by Faith in Believing God is the One True God and Life.

As I watched the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia last night, my heart leapt with Joy when the character “Aslan”, which is portrayed as a great and mighty lion, rises from the dead. I realized how wonderful it must have been to be Mary Magdalene when she stood by the Empty Tomb of Christ and turned to see Jesus standing before her! What a tremendous and everlasting Hope would have been laid in her heart at that very moment! To know, she would never be alone again!

Our Hope is in that empty tomb, the risen Body of Christ that will sustain our New Life and New Spiritual Bodies forever, Sanctified by Belief, washed in the Holy Spirit and Seated with Him at the Right Hand of God through Grace! Just as a mother gives life to a child; so has God given life to us. When we Believe in this union of God’s Breath in us, we Believe that our Creator RE-Creates us in His Image to go in the world and share the word of our Father just as He did! And the Gifts we were given with that Breathe include the Word, (or scripture), written on our hearts and in our mind so as we are to be of sound mind, no longer rooted in the world, but re-born in the Spirit and rooted in the Lord.

20191203_003722No, it will not always be easy. But when we feel discouraged, down or lost, we must go back to the Lord for a renewal of our Spirit, for the Fresh Breath of God! Talk to Him! He’s Listening all the time and the more we speak to Him, the more He speaks back. Reading the Word, putting on the Armour of God, Fellowship and Proclaiming the Will of God over our lives (even when we can’t see what’s up ahead) will keep us grounded in the one Truth that makes us whole in the One Body of Christ.
