Daily Armour | 5 Verses on the Good Fight of Faith

Welcome Back to our Mini-Blog-Series “Daily Armour”. We are reviewing the Verses that describe “The Armour of God”. As we review, we are seeking to understand the verse in its original meaning and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

Refer to the previous posts here:

Understanding Scripture is extremely important. We must search for the meaning that was intended each and everytime we read the scripture to truly understand how it is relevant to us, our situation and our daily lives.

While reading about the Armour of God, we find that this armour that Paul speaks of doesn’t induce the idea of going to battle the way we envision it.

The Armour of God moreso represents a suit of protection and spirtual stance wherein we see a pattern of a lifestyle emerge from the instruction rather than the description of suiting up for an event on a battlefield.

Let’s put the Armour of God into perspective and break down the verses together. The sermon Paul is giving in Ephesians is given as a Ministry of Instruction to the Ephesus Believers on how to walk spiritually in their everyday lives. It is intended to guard us from the daily battle we meet here on Earth everyday.

The ‘Armour of God’ is described in Ephesians, Chapter 6, verses 10-20. We will cover each verse separately. Today we cover Ephesians 6:12.

Ephesians 6:12 NASV

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We aren’t fighting a flesh war, we are fighting a Spiritual One! We must wrap our heads around that fact. Living this life really has nothing to do with our jobs, families, cars, houses, boyfriends or girlfriends. Have you read Ecclesiastes? The meaning of this life is about falling in Love with our God again and learning to walk with Him by Faith in the Garden every single day.

Understand that our war has been proclaimed against something so much greater than that which we can see with our eyes. We must learn to see with our Spirit. In the land of the Living, Heaven, we will only have Spirit. We must live in that even while we suffer the bondage of Flesh.

In this world we are in the land of wickedness, death and hopelessness. But we can be a light to one another to keep pressing forward thru these trials and tribulations. We must encourage one another to be brave and strong! To keep Hope alive for our Day of Rest and seek to raise each other against the true war we have on our hands instead of fighting amongst ourselves.

We cannot condone to the ways of man by fighting petty battles of flesh. By seeking Justice by Man, proving success by works and provisions by labor. These are the laws of man which has proven our need for Grace. So instead, we fight against hopelessness with Belief! We fight against loss with Hope! We fight against wickedness with Love! And we fight against pride with Humility.

For which one of us will prove ourselves worthy without having Faith? We must succeed to fight against the grain of mankind. For we have been given the strength of the Good Fight, which is Faith. And it is by Faith we walk with the Lord on a Daily Basis. It is by Faith that we can see the wickedness for what it truly is. By Faith we become wise to the truth. We build our Faith by walking with Him, being with Him, praying and seeking His guidance.

The Scripture reminds of us so many times of this fight of Faith against wickedness. Let review where our battle lies so that we remain Faithful and focused on the win! Read these 5 Verses on the Good Fight of Faith.

Galatians 2:16 NASV

nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

Romans 5:6 NASV

But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

Hebrews 11:6 NASV

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NASV

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 NASV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord , the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Let us be warriors against wickedness fighting by Faith. Let us see things as they truly are and not how we perceive with our minds, but with our Spirit. Let us lay waste to our ways and rely on Him to guide us. All that which is unseen is in the Spiritual realm, let us live there to be raised up from Glory to Glory. Our God Reigns!
