9 Verses that Strengthen Us, Purify our Understanding and Celebrate the Truth we Know as Believers

LANGUAGE is EVERYTHING.

Everyday, Social Media posts share memes that tell us things that are meant to encourage, direct and stabilize our life and emotions. Unfortunately, the language continues to point back to the human to do the fixing when there’s only one who can bring the fixing we all truly need.

The world will tell you to mourn loss, get right with yourself, life makes you strong, love yourself and believe in yourself. But when we start studying the scripture and earnestly seek the truth of the ways God intended for us to live, we find He has quite the opposite advice than the positive lies we tell each other!

He tells us that the wages for sin is death, so why would we mourn the loss of sin? He tells us to get right with Him and we will not struggle with our identity in Him. He tells us that He is our strength when we are weak! Why would we dismiss the Most High when He has offered to fight our battles for us? He explains that we as humans are frail and damaged by TOKOGAE, but by Him and Him alone, we are Graced, Loved and Worthy. Why would we even try and be worthy without Him? And finally, it is by BELIEVING in Christ, we receive Grace – why in the world would we believe in ourselves instead?
