A House Made of Stone or Ashes | Proof You Stand on Holy Ground

Joshua 24:15
15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua is here speaking to the Israelites in the land of Canaan where they have settled after God had prepared a way for them to succeed their nation into their inheritance from God. And Joshua was warning them to follow the Lord and put away their religions and idols, their traditions and rituals. And simply serve the Lord with all their hearts!

What does it mean for our House to serve the Lord? In actuality, at the time when this was was said, it meant that the Leader of a Family and His Children and all that lived with Him in His tent and on his inheritance (or land) would serve the Lord in the same ways the Father of the House did.

Nowadays, with joined families, broken homes and multi-family living situations and a plethora of different religions… It’s not always feasible to say that everyone you’re living with will follow the ways of God.

However, it has been said that now, since Christ, we have become the Tabernacle, the Sanctuary. The Believer is the place with which God rests upon, the House of the Lord. God dwells within us upon Salvation! We can dedicate our own ways to the Lord! Follow Him and seek His establishment within our Spirit! Feel Him dwelling inside and amongst us! Greater is the Spirit who Lives within me than that which lives in the world! 1 John 4:4

John reiterates what it means for the Lord to be in us and for us to be in the Lord. He reminds the Believer that when the Man is in God and God is in Him that there is a Love that is not like any other Love seen on earth. That in our Deliverance on believing in what Christ Jesus signifies to the world, we receive the great honor of sharing His Love for the world. And this Love will come thru in our actions and in that we will bless our Brothers and Sisters with Love. But foremost we find that when we BELIEVE on Jesus, He takes Residency within us. 1 John 5:1-5

He gives us ways to know if we are indeed walking in Spirit. One of these ways is that when we pray according to His will, He hears us and we know that if we are heard, we will recieve. But note the language in these verses, 1 John 5:14-15, stating this is our Confidence in approaching God himself! And furthermore it points to the burden of proof so that we can know if we are in Him. We will know when this happens, the answering of our prayers that are spoken according to His will! Wow!

How do we pray according to God’s will? Well, Saints of God, Brothers and Sisters, this is something that I find hard to articulate as I have been led to pray this way as of late, but the words have even failed to be translated to me. For the Spirit has been prayIng thru me in tongue and my human ears have been hidden from the messages that have been spoken from my own lips to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14:2 However, I do know that I am being kept in covenant with the Lord because of the proof I have in my life.

God promises to provide for His people, and He is providing for me! I have asked for so many things as of late and have not found one thing to be unanswered or ignored. I have found God’s hand in all the ways in my path and have witnesses miracles in my hours of longing. I attest to His Spirit going before me to prepare hearts, ways and minds for my entrance as though I am being elevated to a place of honor. I am witness to my Heavenly Father’s Love for me in such a profound way, that I cannot begin to utter the Love He has showered upon me or speak to the annointing upon my brow. My Father first loved me and I have become a billboard of that Love to this world. And within that Love I have found great persecution too! “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1. This is how we know we walk with Christ and He with us. 1 John 4:13-19

And this is how we know that our house serves the Lord, because first we BELIEVE in His Love for us and Then we witness to His Love which serves our house. But when we see a house struggling of its own disbelief, we must first Love them as Christ Loved us and secondly, pray for them. Not pray for the falling of that brother or sister, but pray for the raising up. Watch the struggle closely, do they bring themselves to death? Or, are they simply struggling, but being protected? If they are being protected yet still struggling, they are with God and God is in them. And their sin will not bring them to death. They will struggle until God brings them from that struggle, but once one becomes seed of God, they are always in the Spirit and the Spirit with them. 1 John 5:18

So, let us pray for each other wholly and truthfully, holding nothing back. Because there is only one way to understand whether we are in His ways. To pray according to HIS WILL…. AND WITNESS TO OUR PRAYERS BEING ANSWERED. These brothers and sisters who struggle in this world do so because they fight to stay in the world. Much like the Israelites did. They still, even after seeing true Miracles of God in their Houses, could not see God’s True Love for them! Joshua 24:5-13

But we must continue to pray and seek God’s will over their lives and our own. We must pray for the seeking of proof that we are praying correctly and that we are being heard! For then we can witness to the works of the Lord in our lives and encourage our soul to stop mourning for days of old, but to be in the new! 1 John 3:1

We must comprehend we are Holy and Righteous just as Christ! Seeded by and Raised from Ashes in Victory by God Himself! 1 John 2:1-2

This is the Confidence we have to approach the Throne. This is the Joy We have! 1 John1:4

Praise God we have been given a formula to follow! The Scriptures can answer any question we have about our lives or a situation. I prayed for wisdom, and He led me here today I am blessed with the knowledge of the Lord to guide my ways A testimony may fall our lips each and every day when our House serves the Lord! Who knew it would be so simple to have Freedom in Christ? To God be the Glory!
